Ex-Mars One Contestant’s Claims Are Inconsistent
A) This guy was not a finalist, he quit during the 2nd round while there were still over 600 people left in the running.
B) This project will take lots of funding. Why would Mars One waste money flying a psychologist around the world to interview 600 people when he can do his job via Skype?
C) This contestant is not qualified to comment on the psychologists questions.
D) Donating money buys you badges, achievements & status on their social network. . . which, according to Mars One, have nothing to do with the selection process.
E) Why would a round 2 quitter, who admitted to never having met anybody from Mars One have access to their internal data, in order to claim that only 2,000 people applied?
F) This ex-contestant claimed to be motivated by his concern about the effect this revelation would have over the public perception of science. . . and then he published an article about it!
This ex-contestant is not a critic of Mars One, I think he is a religiously motivated opponent to Mars One (and secular science, in general). Not for a second do I believe Mars One will be successful but I think they genuinely believe they can.
