Pool Dust is published by Wez Lundry. This issue is an early one, likely 1990, features trips to Corvallis, Oregon to skate the Avery Park ramp, and Milwaukee, to skate the Turf Skatepark (which had reopened from the 1970s). It also features Granny’s ramp, which lasted from about 1986 to 1992 and was the main vert ramp in the Seattle area — most of Seattle’s sponsored ams and pros skated there. Grind was a zine published by Ben Beebe and Tom Wharton in Seattle, and this issue (#1) came out in 1985. This issue features interviews with DOA, 7 Seconds, pro skater (and now convicted murderer!) Mark “Gator” Rogowski, and Russ Battaglia, the co-owner of Fallout Records and Skateboards, coverage of the Boarder Wars pro skateboarding contest in Vancouver, BC, the Waterland contest in Des Moines, WA, and the Wake Up and Smell the Pavement contest put on by Fallout. There is also a photo feature on the Terrace Ramp and record reviews. Ben passed away in 1991.
