When I wrote my old blog, back before ‘Hamilton’ was a twinkle in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s eye, I had a post entitled “Happy Birthday Aaron Burr”. If one were to search “Aaron Burr Birthday” on Google, my post was the second highest result.

This particular post, in which I mocked Mr. Burr and his historical foibles and connected them loosely to my own life, remains the most popular thing I have ever written online. More people search for Aaron Burr’s birthday than I ever thought!

This brought a curious group, the Aaron Burr Truthers, out of the woodwork. They did a very thorough, and very unnecessary take-down of my historical analysis. I only wish the post was still up so that the Hamilton obsessed could use that silly post as a sounding board to express their rage at his killer.
