It takes time and resources to deliver awesome emails, so there needs to be a clear business objective for developing email marketing campaigns with achievable goals for the target return on investment (ROI). The approximate value of each subscriber on a list (commonly referred to as RPS — Revenue Per Subscriber) and the value of each email blast (commonly referred to as or RPE — Revenue Per Email) are important metrics to calculate and can help one get a sense of how their email marketing efforts are contributing to their business. It’s pretty difficult to get an exact number here, but even just a ballpark figure can help a marketer make better decisions.
