Why music, art & projects aren’t really ever finished, just released.
U2 albums never get finished. They just get released.

Ain’t that the truth? You try and try and try to make it match what’s in your head but sooner or later you run out of time. Either in a deadline sense or a mortal sense.
Sometimes we have to accept where we are right now and just let people see what we can do. If we shy away from letting people see who we are until we’ve caught up with the image of who we want to be we’ll be chasing our own tail forever. With nothing to show for it.
It’s like a snapshot. In time we won’t look the same. We won’t think the same. We won’t be the same. But if we just manage to capture that moment, it’s there forever. Perfection, with all its beautiful faults and flaws.
“Nature is never finished” — Robert Smithson
I admire the fact that Saturday Night Live is still going strong. They manage to put together sketches in less than a week. And every week they’re on it gets done. Hit or miss, it gets done! For more insights on the process check out Tina Fey’s awesome book “Bossypants”, it’s hilarious and inspiring!
There’s a great story in the book about how she had gotten a scar and how people made her feel special. But she never put together that people were so nice to her because of what had happened.
She grew up feeling empowered and had a mentality of deserving to be treated well. Amazing, so often we put ourselves down and think we’re worth less than we are.
Goes to show how much having a positive attitude about yourself can do!
