“People who hate country music just haven’t been forced to listen to it”
“People who hate country music just haven’t been forced to listen to it long enough”
My sister gets it. She understands this quote for two reasons: She said it and she experienced it. My entire family didn’t start off enjoying country. No one listened to it. My twin sister was ahead of the curve and she got into it way before everyone else. We made fun of her and teased her because who likes country music right? And then she forced me to listen to it. I was hooked.
Now it was my twin and I versus my older sister. Time to show her the light. We always listened to country music. Every time she was around, boom country music was on. We listened to it so much that eventually we had her. Now the three of us are huge country fans and this past year we enjoyed a good sibling bonding moment seeing Luke Bryan in concert.
My sisters and I had a great time at the concert but back to the quote. “People who hate country music just haven’t been forced to listen to it long enough”. I don’t quite understand the hate for country music. I think people just assume country is that twangy sound complaining about trucks, girls, and beer. Maybe their dog ran off as well. Sure, I can’t really argue that country music doesn’t lean heavily on trucks, girls, and beer but I don’t see anything wrong with that. Do people not like that? Country music is all about having a good time and I swear that if you just listen to it long enough you’ll understand that.
