To Be A Product Manager | Day 40

This journal helps me improve 1% every day…

Welcome to Day 40 of

To Be A Product Manager

Since I start my career, I have a habit of rating myself everyday before I leave the office. I use the calendar on my table, drawing an up/average/down sign on each day. The beginning of this week is very intense, so many meetings and at the same time, I’m doing my new experiment, which is to do jogging, cooking(switch my reading hours to the evening), shower, podcast and walking to office all in the morning.

However, I don’t feel any exhaustion at all when I got in office, but powered up and ready to tackle the day. And enjoying your own dishes at lunch and dinner is such a pleasure of life.

I also started reading REWORK by Jason Fried. The 2 books have already been on my shelf for a month, and it also surprises me in many aspects. I like the way they phrase a lesson learned from bloody truth in such a short story.

I think the challenge I have is still about concentration and deep work.

I hate being distracted while working on something important, because I don’t want to multitask and waste time on switching from one and another. I prefer setting a fixed time and discussing all the problems together.

So you will have more time focusing on deep work and being conscious about what you’re doing. I will definitely put forward this suggestion next time during the meetings.

My name is Zake Zhang, a newbie VR product manager based in Shenzhen, China. I’m thinking what if I write daily product journal for 1,000 days?

Thanks for reading and let’s keep on hacking!

Warm Regards,

be so good they can’t ignore you.
