Wee little doggie Luna!
Day 10 of 100
Yay! I’m 10% of the way there! Trying to be optimistic here, but the first 10 days weren’t difficult to write!
I love Luna my dog a lot. I was presented with a opportunity back in September 2013, to have her as a dog, and I took that offer. She was just a wee pup of about two months old, and as of this writing she is approaching her one year mark next month. Luna is Australian Shepherd, and one of the most curious puppies I have ever seen. She has a great personality of one second she can be mad at you for not giving her a treat when she wants one, then she sees the rope out of the corner of her eye and she wants to play tug-o-war.
She is part watch dog, because every time she hears something outside, or a door close she immediately wants out on the patio to see what is going on outside. While on the patio she will have staring competitions with the neighbors cat. She will sit in the lawn chair for hours on end if I let her. One of my favorite things about Luna is whether I’m letting her in from the patio, coming home, or just grabbing the mail from mailbox down the stairs. No matter how long I am gone, she is always just as excited to see me if I was gone for one minute, or eight hours. Always greeting with a hug and nut shot. It always brings a smile to my face.
Normally after the hug, Luna will get into this race around the apartment, and run all around jumping on to the couch, and off, up and over my bed, around the corner, under the dining table and stop at a door. It has always been a good chuckle to just see her for no reason sprint around the apartment. The other day, I was working on my laptop on the couch while cooking dinner. I went to go check on the stove, and placed the laptop on the arm rest of the couch [a pretty wide and flat surface to leave my laptop for a moment]. While I was in the kitchen stiring the hamburger helper, I heard Luna start one of her laps, and did not think much of it until it was too late. I heard a loud noise and Luna was laying on the floor next too it all sad. She had knocked over my laptop onto the floor.
I was not mad at Luna, but at myself for my own ignorance, however Luna was all sad puppy eyed and didn’t really move. I started to look at the laptop and did not see any outside damage, but it would not boot up. So I opened it up, and looked around, again did not see any damage on the side I was looking at. The entire time I was looking at the laptop Luna laid at my feet, still acting like she was in trouble. Still no luck on getting it to power, so the next day I took my laptop to be looked at, and the gentlemen there, took it apart and noticed there was a crack in the motherboard, short circuited RAM, the CPU was chipped, and over all pretty damaged
After getting the bad news on Monday, I spent a lot of time thinking of what new laptop to get because it would cost too much to fix it. So I brought home a new laptop, and Luna greeted me with a hug, sniffing the new box. I opened the laptop and sat down with it, starting the setup. Luna just sat there looking at me, and then the laptop. After a little while she started to be cuddly and just laid next to me while I was messing around with the laptop.
Luna, no matter how good or bad my day was, always greets me as a happy overly energetic puppy giving me hugs, and wanting to play. No matter the mood, it always improves. Luna has been a great dog and I hope that I get to spend many more years with her around.
