I Never Spoke to a Black Man Until I Went to Mizzou

Jeff, this is a great piece and I applaud your courage in writing it. I think one of the most important things any of us can do to help overcome the perpetuation of race homogeny is welcome individuals of other races/ethnicities with open arms and without overbearing presuppositions. Hold a conversation with those outside your racial, ethnic, or cultural group and you will find that we are all more alike than you think. Bridging these perceived gaps between us, which have formed as a result of historical processes we cannot change, should be the number one priority for today’s America and today’s world. We can all learn from your experience with Terry.
