1st clap — To acknowledge our presence in Shiva’s temple.
2nd clap — Even without asking, Shiva blesses our home.
3rd clap — Seeking Shiva’s shelter.
Just like Ravana gained Lanka’s kingdom by clapping thrice.
When Lord Rama couldn’t build a bridge, he clapped thrice before the Shiva Lingam, and a path emerged.
