Travel tips that are light on your pocket

The reason why we don’t get to explore the world as much as we want to is because of how expensive things can get. However, there are a few helpful tips to help you cut costs without cutting out the fun.
Travel between cities at night
Sure, you’re going to be a little sore in the morning, but that will hardly matter. By taking an overnight train or bus, you can catch all the sights and save up to two days, had you travelled during the day.
Find a place with a kitchen
Sampling the local food is essential, but if your destination is nothing new to you or someplace local, look for a place with a built-in kitchen. Shop for ingredients at the local market and at least save up on the cost of breakfast.
Look up deals
Travel portals always have some interesting deals running that will help you save. Common onces include a discount on room prices if you book flights with them. Scour the internet for the best deals and you just might luck out.
Off season
The off season may not be the most happening time to visit, but if the idea is to explore new cultures or just explore, it might be a good time to plan your trip. Just avoid the mountains during the rainy season.
Shop non-commercial
The most tourist-y places are where you can expect prices to be high. Looking for souvenier shops away from where all the hotels are or at weekend markets.
While these tips will help you save money during or while planning your trip, you can save money on your trip after coming back too. File a leave travel allowance (LTA) claim, and you could save up to 30% in taxes on your travel costs.
