No, what I’m telling you is that if the election were being decided via the popular vote total rather than state by state, then it wouldn’t matter if they could swing a whole state, but Trump would not have given up on big population states like New York and California, and then it’s possible he would’ve gotten more votes than he did in those states, with the ultimate result that he might’ve won the popular vote as a whole. I don’t know this, and neither do you. The point is that the rules were what they were, and those rules mean that the overall popular vote simply didn’t matter and shouldn’t matter now either.
