Yes, I am probably asking too much from people of all races, especially there’s nothing easier (and less productive) for politicians to do than to pander to their constituencies on the basis of race without actually lifting a finger to help anyone. Talking about people’s races as much as possible benefits these politicians because it gets them votes, and talking about people’s races as much as possible is also great for the media because it drives clickbait as people get outraged about the latest racial injustice of the moment, and talking about race as much as possible obviously gives all of these hyphenated-studies professors at universities a reason to exist, so our whole institutional structure is now set up to keep categorizing and dividing people based on their race, which makes people more racist, which then gives everyone even more reason to keep talking about race. It’s a simple and stupid vicious cycle that’s already begun. The sad thing is that our society was actually slowly but steadily moving away from racial categorizations in the aftermath of the Civil Rights Era. In the past few decades, however, we’ve lost our way.
If only! Blacks won’t go for it though.
