You can “listen” to people all you want, but the problem is that listening to one group of people will give you one perspective and listening to another group of people will give you the exact opposite perspective, and so, in the end, what you need to listen to is actual empirical evidence. That empirical evidence, summarized here, is that there is no epidemic of police killings of blacks, and that, in fact, whites are slightly more likely than blacks to be killed by police. I know it’s very tempting to jump on the bandwagon of these kinds of appealing social justice causes, but we also have to be responsible, and this movement in our society right now is based on bad data, inflaming racial tensions, driving white people away from the left and making things WORSE not better for everyone in America.
