Introducing Zoolana’s NFT Philosophy and Final Alpha Design

Gaming NFTs have come a long way since 2017, yet, most gaming NFT projects have not paid much attention to the presentation of their NFTs. The focus has been on the in-game utility that those NFTs have, rather than be aesthetically pleasing- why not both came into our mind when we started the design of Zoolana’s NFTs.
We at Zoolana believe that gaming NFTs can be rich in utility and yet still be aesthetically pleasing. A deadly combination of innovation, and collectability.
Maybe one day, Zoolana can inspire existing, and upcoming projects that NFTs aren’t supposed to just be art, just be a utility, and are a combination of both.
This is the reason why we are trying to go above and beyond during the art creation to create NFTs that players and holders would want to show off- in game AND in real life.
How is Zoolana any different?
As a team, we want to take steps in the right direction from the get go. As you can see below, it is completely possible to just create a beautiful piece of art and get it done and over with.
But we choose to take it several steps further, redefining the art direction, adding animations, doing a NFT design that others have not done before.
So what’s next?
We’re just getting started, and you can expect Zoolana to uphold the standard with our upcoming Alpha Edition NFTs, as well as all of the future NFTs we will be releasing.
For those who have been following us, and are in our Discord, you might’ve already seen sneak peeks of the completed artwork we have on our upcoming Alpha Edition NFTs.
We knew that we wanted Alpha Edition NFTs to be rich in utility and yet still be aesthetically pleasing. And while that might sound easy, it’s actually quite difficult, more often than not behind-the-scenes.
The thoughts running through our mind constantly while we started drafting out ideas for the NFT design was: we wanted it to be unique and have some form of originality, something that will stand out, yet not implemented by anyone in the space before. We also wanted to showcase and do justice to the artwork that brought the characters to life by Polar Engine, and lastly, to add a touch of collectability like Magic: The Gathering(MTG) cards.
The process went back and forth on the drawing board repeatedly, and after weeks being spent on the NFT design scraping and reworking ideas again and again, we are proud to announce that the Alpha Edition NFT was born:
