When trying to communicate with each other, the problem, as I see it, isn’t big words vs small words. We simply don’t communicate any more. To communicate I mean we listen, understand what the other person is saying and then respond with our own information and analysis. Person one responds. We have moved into the simplistic Facebook world of responding with “Like” or a negative cartoon picture. That ends up in a world where Culture is Cult. The big word people have their cult and the little word people also have their cult fellowship where deprogramming becomes impossible. Pick a media source you agree with and join the cult. Like Trump — one cult with all of the answers. Dislike Trump — another cult with all of the answers. And never the twain shall meet. Take the two sentences and substitute for “Trump” something else. Works all the time these days. Cult recruiting takes place every day.
