Things I will tell my daughter if she has a heart like mine. .

1. It will be both a blessing and a curse to feel too much, to feel too deeply, to look for pain waiting to be noticed by you on a silver platter.
2. Poetry will come easy. You will notice the smallest things about someone or something. The curve of his lips when he smiles, the crack on his face when you tell him you love him, the scars on his forehead when he tells you he doesn’t love you; everything.
3. You will get used to random breakdowns. Breakdowns which would mean you shouting at your family, crying in your bedroom, hugging your pillow, talking to a friend who won’t seem to understand your pain, feeling miserable, asking me for ice cream and getting back to crying.
Don’t worry, I will buy ice cream for you.
4. Chocolate and rain will become best friends. They will give you the comfort you will look for in the world. When drenching in rain, allow yourself to be. And slowly, everything you were feeling will be washed away.
