Karen Camacho’s Blog: A New Beginning
Hello! For those of you who are wondering, my name is Karen Camacho and I am currently a junior at Stanford University. I first started this blog Spring quarter of my sophomore year, as a requirement for my Public Policy 101 course. The first five postings are about the different topics and political scientists we covered in class, and are all about how items move up an agenda, and why some are more successful than others in being implemented. To make it more interesting, we focused on the issues of marijuana use, fracking, the minimum wage, and the civil rights act. I hope that you enjoy reading these posts as much as I enjoyed laboriously writing them.
Now that the school year is over and it’s summer, I’ve realized that continuing this blog will be a great opportunity for me to improve on my writing skills. I hope to cover issues that I am most interested and passionate about, including immigration reform, education policy, voter rights, the Latin@ and minority vote, civil rights, and activism. As I continue to take more political science courses at Stanford and have more experience, I hope to be able to add more insight on all these issues. I am also really interested in Latin American literature, so I hope to also add a couple of posts on the literature and poetry I have read. As a Political Science and Iberian and Latin American Cultures double major, I hope to bring a diverse collection of posts.
J’espère que vous aimez mon blog!
