Congrats you won!
Wait. I take that back.

Kat Von D, big name tattoo artist best known for the reality show LA Ink, Recently held a contest for make artist. It was a national contest, challenging it’s contestants using the theme “ Saint and Sinner”.
A make up artist based in Wichita came across the contest on Instagram and with the help a photographer friend, they set to work. This was the final product:

Gypsy Freeman and photographer Jenn Bischof were declared the winners. Many people loved what they submitted, including Kat herself. Their prize included tickets to Los Angeles to attend the launch party of a new line and a $500 dollar Sephora gift card. The prize was reported to worth approximately $2,100.
Things were set up, plans were made.
And then people decided to dig a little to learn some more about The contest winner, Gypsy Freeman. This curiosity led to the discovery of a pre- election day photo, showing who she through her support with.
Gypsy supported Trump. And this was were the problems began.
Kat Von D herself messaged Gypsy.
“My launch party [and my brand] celebrates many things that Trump is against, And I just need you to know that I personally have a hard time with inviting anyone who would support such an anti-feminist, anti-homosexual/LGBT, anti-immigrant, and anti-climate change fascist such as Trump.”

Right here, Kat begins judging Gypsy based solely on her support for Trump. Nothing else. I don’t know about you guy, but I know plenty of trump supporters who do not support his every decision. Not to mention Trump isn’t Anti anything (from the above stated in the text). Provide me with proof that shows me he’s any of this stuff and I will happily right an article about how am wrong. My point is you should not let political differences affect things like this.
Gypsy apparently thought so as well replying “I won’t be upset with you if you can’t have us there for these reasons, and I wish you the best,We would love to be there, of course, but I sincerely do understand if you decide to replace us with someone who supports the candidate you support.”
But Kat insisted it wasn’t about inviting someone who held a different political opinion than hers.
“It’s not about inviting people based on their political stance — it’s just extremely difficult (borderline impossible) for me to be friends with or associate with anyone who would support a man who goes against everything I stand for. I would feel the same way towards people who supported Hitler, or any other fascist.”
But you are revoking her invitation…. because of her political stance….
This problem did not happen to Gypsy’s photographer friend, who later posted pictures to Instagram showing her at the launch party, one photo with Kat Von D herself. Great friend huh.
Any mention of the contest has been removed .
I shouldn’t even have to point out the hypocrisy with this and there are many like this.
Gypsy said it best.
“It’s everything that they’re calling us, they’re doing. It’s a huge case of hypocrisy.”
