FlashPoint
WTF?! You can’t start from there
I know we are all tired of origin stories. Gods only know how many times we’ve scene batman’ parents die or uncle Ben get shot. But those are heroes that have been revamped over and over.
So when we finally get a new hero on the screen, we don’t mind seeing their origins.
So why the hell is the first Flash movie going to be about an alternate universe? Why do we not get to see how the forensic scientist that was Barry Allen, become the flash the right way? Not to mention, there’s no superman in this universe; Diana and Arthur are fighting for control of the world; Batman is Thomas Wayne; there are many differences that just can’t be ignored.
Let me explain what I mean.
As a young boy, Barry’s mother was Murdered and his father was accused of his crime. He knew his father was innocent ad this drive to prove such led to Barry having a strong sense of justice. We know he grew up and became of forensic scientist. He was working late one day when, during an electrical storm, a bolt of lightening struck a chemical cabinet, covering him with the electrified chemicals. And The Flash was born.
That was how the flash came to be. This is what we want to see first.
Flashpoint starts off with The Flash fighting along side the justice. After fighting and apprehending the villians, Barry goes for a run. As he is running, he begins to think of his mother’s death, wishing he could have stopped it.
And he did. He ran so fast, he ran into the past and stopped his mother from being murdered. But that is not all he changed.
Instead of Bruce Wayne surviving, his parents do; Thomas beats the man to death, while Martha goes hysterical over the son she jut lost. She becomes the joker. Thomas becomes batman, the only batman I know who kill. (Irrelevant but Harley Quinn is Yo-Yo in this Universe)
Amazons and Atlatians are at war with each other, The Justice league was never formed.
Hal Jordan never became green lantern.
Superman was not found by Martha and John.
And the biggest thing of all- The Flash doesn’t exists.
While I would love to see a live action, Flashpoint movie, It doesn’t exactly fit in with what you already have established.
And if you are just skipping his origin story, don’t.
The Flash has’t had his movie yet. I think he deserves one.
