Black Lives Matter is a chapter-based national organization working for the validity of Black life. We are working to (re)build the Black liberation movement.

The above statement is taking from The Black lives Matter website. We all should already know what this “movement” claims to be and what they claim to fight for.

Black Lives Matter affirms the lives of Black queer and trans folks, disabled folks, black-undocumented folks, folks with records, women and all Black lives along the gender spectrum.

SO

If Black lives Matter is there to affirm all black lives, what about your brothers and sisters that where the badge?

I am of course referring to Officer Familia, who was shot and killed while sitting in a police van in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Now, while I am not totally sure of her ethnic background, It is pretty clear that she was indeed a Black Police officer.

Familia was shot in the head while on duty, sitting in a police van. The shooter, Identified as Alexander Bonds, was later fatally shot after confrontation with police.

Here is another senseless shooting, not because of race, but because of profession. Familia was targeted because she was a cop. Had she not been on duty, or had she be some where else on duty, she might still be alive today.

So where is the statement against her meaningless death? Where are the protest the killing of POC Officers? The signs calling for justice?

Where is Black Lives Matter?
