All good things

Let me take you on a journey.

A journey away from the routines of a life set on repeat.

A rhythmic trip trip with a change in time signature, tempo, and dynamics

A creeping crescendo of dissatisfaction,

A rug pulled out from under a L shaped desk

An amateur magician attempting to crisply clear a table cloth, with all of the dinner plates and settings crashing to the floor.

All of your worries crashing to the ground around you.

The slow realization that you had been running in the wrong direction

Running in place

A lonesome trail along a barbed wire fence

never sure if it is there to keep them out or keep you in

A search for a destination, a finish line, or at least a change

The exertion stealing your tongue

Even an articulation of a thirst failing you

Even the articulation of the thirst failing you.

An error of judgment closing the door behind you.

Stepping outside to the crisp new air.

An upstream paddle to a new home.
