Unsocial butterfly
I hate how we live in such a showy society. Where if no one sees something happen, it never did. Whether we consciously or unconsciously seek this superficial validation, it is problematic. Don’t ask me how, just think about it.
Social media is such a farce. You only see what people want you to see. Nothing is ever a hundred percent authentic. And it makes sense. Their brand, their business. Everyone wants to “sell” the best version of themselves. I think it’s complete jargon when people feel like it’s their birth right to ask for more than what is shown. You get what you get, hun. Keep it moving.
People always make the fact that I barely post anything such an unnecessary issue. It’s not more than it is. I just don’t have much that I think needs to be publicized. I guess if you think about it, nothing really needs to be publicized — emphasis on need. So it’s really just for fun and a matter of personal preference.
Some feel the need to Snapchat every single breathing moment of their lives. Nice. Others feel the need to use Instagram as a timeline for their two second relationships. Beautiful. Twitter of course is the go-to hub for showcasing one’s wit and comedy skills. Wonderful. I don’t think one reason is more valid than the other. Like I said, it all depends on what you fancy.
I couldn’t find the tweet to copy here, but @fkbadu quoted this tweet that suggested that in some way, one’s sparse social media involvement was a reflection of their maturity. Scoooopppeee. The things people choose to be strategic about cracks me up. Like who cares? If anything, not posting content is a reflection of your dull intellectual capacity. As per your brain can not formaulate anything of substance. So please, sit.
My point is, I have no reason for not posting. It’s just what it is.
