Good things do not come to those who wait. Good things come to those who do everything in their power to sway circumstance to a desirable outcome.

“In this life we get nothing save by effort. Freedom from effort in the present merely means that there has been stored up effort in the past” — Theodore Roosevelt

Sure, being patient when there is nothing left for you to do but wait is then the best course of action. Thing is that is almost never the case.

There is always something more you can do.

Which is really quite an invigorating and inspiring sentiment. You can always take just one more step to increase the odds of victory. Eagerness, boldness and energy are then much more powerful tools than the ability to simply sit still.

“Diligence is the mother of good luck, and God gives all things to industry.” — Benjamin Franklin
