Years ago, when asked what advice he could give a young comic, Jerry Seinfeld simply said:

“Write every day.”

He said to get a large wall calendar and to mark each day that you write with a giant X.

The habit will form and you’ll be addicted to building that chain of Xs.

“Your only job is to not break that chain.”

There wasn’t a single mention of results in his advice.

Instead, he knows that if you show up and practice your craft each day, you’re GOING to get better at it.

That’s how practice works.

Show up and practice each day, and the rest will come. Eventually.
