A Call

She arrives unannounced,

opening me up to awe & wonder,

in gentlest of ways She hides.

Disguised in the ordinary,

She speaks without utterance.

a lure…

a beckon…

‘Come then, my beloved, my lovely one, come.

For see, Winter is here, the Sun is hiding,

the trees lay bare, the river is quiet,

the geese are passing over.

Come my beloved, come!’
