Great article. I wrote about some of the key disruptive technologies that are already beginning to transform the world and the economy in big ways in an article called, “Get Ready for the Future: A High-Tech Video Time Capsule From My Future Self”. Some of the tech I touched on includes self-driving cars, drones, AI, augmented reality, 3d printing, mobile payments, bitcoin, and thought controlled robotics (cyborg tech). Each piece of tech is highlighted with video demonstrations, and all of the tech is in use in some form or other right now.

Our team at Parallel Drive has been working hard to highlight the growing role of tech in our daily lives, the growing disruption that comes when we develop technology that makes old processes obsolete, and our urgent need to do a better job of tech education with the next generation.

We’re making a documentary film on the topic called “Programming Literacy”, and we’re working on a new online tech education platform that we hope will create new opportunities for those in need. It’s called the JSHomes Platform, and it is open-source. We’re also building a catalog of free tech education resources.

These are topics that the world needs to be thinking a lot more about, before it’s too late, or the big economic gap that exists between thousands of homeless in San Francisco, and the tech elite that has priced them out of the market will spread. I’m glad you’re organizing a conference to discuss these important issues, and discover new ways that the on-demand economy can produce better opportunities for everyone.
