Lots of Java programmers are afraid of JavaScript. This is not JavaScript’s fault. I’ve seen easy-to-maintain million LOC+ JS programs and impossible to maintain 10k LOC Java programs.

It sounds to me like your team needs to flush the bias and learn JS better or hire some real JS developers to maintain the JS app.
