“As far as ‘concerned citizen’ — it seems like any sensible citizen would be concerned with a Star Chamber of Intelligence Community staffers settling political disputes by leaking classified information against their rivals.”
Political disputes are not national security threats. The intelligence community monitors national security checks. Flynn was a national security threat. The information was brought to the President who decided to sit on it and not put national security before politics and image.
I remember not so long ago when leaks were all the rage with the current President. The thing about leaks is that they affect all parties, presidents, and candidates sooner or later. So what goes around comes around. If it leads to transparency for shifty foundations, shifty emails, and shifty deals, then by all means its great for shifty presidents.
