An unforgettable day
Hi, we’re back! (as promised)
Today we’re sharing our CEO’s experience as a speaker at TEDxOporto 2015!
TEDx are independently organized TED events that are all about spreading inspiring and life changing ideas. There we can listen to outstanding speakers sharing their experiences, passions and visions with the world.
We love learning from people, especially interesting people. People who've got smart ideas or actions that make our world better.
You can imagine our excitement when our boss, Paulo, was invited to be a speaker at TEDxOporto. We've always admired his enthusiasm and perseverance, and often envisioned Paulo sharing his idea in a TED stage, so you can guess how proud we were of him when the invitation arrived ☺
This year’s edition was themed as “The Main Thing”. And what really matters in your life?
“It’s amazing what our senses can extract from movement and body language. That’s what led me to my “Main Thing”: is it possible to extract this information through devices, interpret it and create value? Almost all of the wearables quantify something, but we want to build more intelligent technology that qualifies the information and empowers people’s sensing and lives” - Paulo
Seeing our vision and passions sharing the same stage as Jonathan MacDonald (founder of Thought Expansion Network), Joe Santos (founder of Vencer Autismo), Omar Abdallat (Jordanian cartoonist) and many fantastic others, was simply unforgettable.

There were truly amazing ideas on stage that day. While some shared their emotions, others shared projects aimed at measuring emotions. Some shared their views on science, others shared their poetry. In short, it was a sea of knowledge and feelings, that made it one simply unforgettable day.
Curious minds are always learning and absorbing new ideas. After TEDxOporto, Paulo believes that now his “Main Thing is to contribute to that a similar energy of TEDxOporto is transformed in positive actions, everyday, everywhere and by a growing number of people”.
It was an honor to be chosen to be part of this fantastic event, share compelling stories and meet great thinkers and their unique perspectives! Our passion and challenge is to use smart technology to improve people’s lives, and on the 18th of April we left the stage even more motivated and confident that our idea can really make a difference!
(we’re eagerly waiting for the video to be available, we’ll share it as soon as we get our hands on it).
Love,
Joana
