The underlying assumption in the original challenge was that “the system” is stacked against men; women can just fling accusations at the wall until something sticks.

Well written, Mirah Curzer; sadly, one need only look at stories about college investigations (especially those handled “internally”) to see how heavily stacked the field is. Even when external authorities eventually intervene, the risk calculus becomes skewed still further by the reluctance to damage the records of young men (see the NYT’s scathing takedown on Florida police’s investigation into Jameis Winston, published in 2014).
