Hank — I keep thinking about this story of yours over and over again. It’s almost as if it happened to me. At the very least, as if it could’ve easily happened to me…and my wife.
Just wanted to reiterate how appreciative I am of folks like yourself, who’ve been around all along, blazing trails for the rest of us to follow. A big part of me doesn’t think past generations are recognized enough, or appreciated enough, by today’s youth. That concerns me because we all have to know and understand our past, in order to become better individuals and form a better society.
There are so many stories left to tell of our history here in the U.S. I’m planning to contribute to that cause, and to hopefully become the subject of great stories to come.
Last but not least, thanks for your service. I was born the year this happened to you, so I’d like to think we have some sort of a connection. Perhaps that’s already evident in our stories.
