I feel confident in assuming that most podcasts do not make money .This goes back to one of my first points in the article, that there is a high bar to getting sponsors and advertising. And then the second point, that there is no standard metric to measure listens. If you listen on Soundcloud, you are not downloading a show. And podcasters don’t have the ability to collect $$ play by play, like YouTube. CPMs are based off estimations of listenership. In other words, it’s not simple and that’s why we need a better platform.
