Great post and I couldn’t agree more.
C++11/14 has been adopted like wildfire in the industry. The language has a new feel and writes ever so elegantly with even more options for optimizations(move semantics).
James Hamilton, distinguished engineer AWS, did a analysis of datacenter costs. His conclusion was that power and hardware constitute 88% (57% hardware + 18% power + 13% cooling) of the cost associated with running a datacenter. This means if you made you code half in space and time then you need half the compute power. You immediate take off 44% cost of a datacenter!!
