I can totally relate to this. I’m one of those people who didn’t need to work at all to get through school, and I became incredibly lazy.
It’s hard to get to real work again.
It sucks that things don’t work out exactly as planned and that there’s no easy system to spot and game.
Yet for me, it’s not about reading.
I’m reading a lot and I always have. It’s what made me “smart” in the first place.
It’s the willingness to work which I lost in highschool.
While everybody else endured the grind of graduation, stupidly studying everything there was, I was already relaxing. I had a system figured out to get good grades almost without studying.
Now things changed. The systems are much harder.
I hate things that aren’t easy.
I hate things that don’t succeed immediately.
I hate getting out of my comfort zone.
And damn this is harder to fix than picking up a book and starting to read.
