Why Product Market Fit is Overrated (and what to focus on instead)

Taylor Pearson very well researched and a great read. I love your mental framework around the issue, one of the best for idea validation I’ve come across. Thanks!
So given I have my punchcard with 5 slots, the question is if it’s better to waste one or two of them just trying-failing-learning or if one should aggressively filter business ideas before even attempting to jump on them — e.g. by checking founder/market and founder/product fit as well as other criteria like those for (presumably) low-hanging fruits such as B2B markets, whether I can quantify a concrete ROI for potential clients, whether it’s an aspirin or vitamine problem and so on.
What’s your take on this? Filter aggressively or just jump in for the first slots?
