2018 Instagram Game Plan

Social media has become a way in which we express ourselves and interact with others. 2018 will be no different from today. Businesses should already be developing their game plans for 2018 because expectations are high. Instagram has become one of the most prominent outlets for businesses to take advantage of. 71% of businesses today are utilizing Instagram and all of its features. With that being said, 80% of users follow at least one business on their personal account. With over 700 million active users on Instagram, talk about content exposure! I am an Instagram addict myself, and I follow quite a few businesses on there as well. I use Instagram as my own source of online shopping, as do millions of other Instagram users. Let’s be real here, the majority of verified businesses posting via Instagram have such aesthetically pleasing images. This is an easy attention-grabber for me as I search for external links to purchase the products. It is said that 65% of top-performing Instagram posts feature some sort of product. This is such a simple way for a business or brand to establish themselves with advertising via Instagram. A lot of businesses advertise a product without consumers even knowing it. Product placement is such a beautiful thing and what better place to do so than on Instagram? I will admit, it is frustrating to see sponsored ads on Instagram where businesses are clearly trying to give me a sales pitch on a product. I do not even care to read the captions, and I instantly keep on scrolling. With the Instagram population quickly growing, businesses need to figure out new, trendy ways to catch consumers’ attention. 2018 will be a new year of trends, hashtags, and all the like where businesses can thrive if their game plan is executed effectively.
