Great analysis! I really loved the idea of meal kits at first. While Sun Break was great, they didn’t offer the allergy alternatives that Blue Apron did.
However, as a family of 4, my ultimate issue seemed to be that the meal kit subscriptions created more stress than they relieved. It was another thing that had to be scheduled into a hectic family plan. We tried Move Butter hoping less structure would provide more flexibility, but ultimately, didn’t enjoy the selection and felt more random with no direction.
Food / Grocery is a very difficult market because it is something so crucial, yet so wildly different for everyone.
Do you have any of the same issues with meal kits and your family? Were you able to find any customer demographic information?
