Money in 3 steps
THE BANE OF ALL EVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s the reason for all your stress, all your problems, all your short comings. If you just had more money, man, you could pay off all your debt, you could focus on the things you love, and do all the things you’ve wanted to do.
Money might be the reason your parents fight, it might be the reason you can’t go to the college you’ve always wanted to go to, it might be the reason for A LOT of things, as our society is basically built off of this exchange of value.
On that note, before we loose ourselves in stress and rage, let’s take a step back, and see money for what it really is.
Money — the assets, property, and resources owned by someone or something; wealth. Basically, a medium used to exchange value. The more value you have, the more money you have… right?
Well, not exactly. I know a lot of people who are extremely valuable to me, and frankly they don’t have very much money. So, let’s look at it a little closer. Someone has to give you the money. The money has to be earned one way or the other… So, money is really an exchange of value between you and someone who posses the money you seek.
Who has your money?
There are millions of “money holders” out there that are looking for other people to do the things that they do not want to do, or that they are incapable of doing. Those “money holders” are looking to exchange the money that they have, for a set of tasks to get done by someone else. The person who fulfills those tasks is essentially exchanging their time, to do something, for someone else, in order to be valuable, and therefore EARN money. They, basically, work for money.
Okay… simple enough. But how do people get WAY more money than others?
This is where you really pay attention, because this is the riddle that billions of people all across the world are still trying to figure out, and it’s a riddle i’m finally starting to comprehend.
You have to get money to start working for you.
“How? Christian, God Damn it, I have heard that same bull shit advice since I was 12 years old when my dad told me to start saving money, but for Christ sake, what the fuck do you mean????????”
This is what I mean: you have something you’re passionate about. I don’t know what it is, and maybe you don’t either. And if you don’t, we’ve found step number one in you figuring out how to get the almighty dollar in your bank account.
- Find what you’re passionate about
Once you’ve done that, you can now see clearly; the gap between where you are now and where you want to be, and trust me guys this is a very good thing. Because as humans, we inherently just figure shit out. And when a human (you) sees a gap, we do what? We build a motha fuckin bridge. Here is step two. DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO GET YOURSELF FROM WHERE YOU ARE NOW, TO WHERE YOU WANT TO BE. You want to paint? Well, guess what? There are thousands and thousands of artists out there that have found a way to monetize their art, they post it on instagram and create a crazy following so that they can start selling custom shirts and original prints, they commission their work for different companies looking for unique designs, they create YouTube pages of their art and then create awesome paid classes for others to learn how to paint bad ass stuff like them. In order to get there, you might have to have a job to keep you afloat. That’s okay! Your job is your way of gathering the resources in other for you to build the motha fuckin bridge!
2. Build a bridge
Building the bridge, realistically takes about 3 years. So, if you’re just starting out, I’m sorry to burst your bubble, but it’s not going to happen overnight. But, if you took step one seriously, it shouldn’t matter if its six months or ten years, if you’re working towards what you’re passionate about then IT SHOULD NOT MATTER. Because spending the rest of your life on the other side of the bridge is always worth it, no matter how old you are.
Step three is where I stop giving advice because this is where I’m still figuring things out, but I know it’s the final step in making money your best friend rather than your biggest enemy. It involves investing, automating, and finding all the ways that your army of golden coins can go to war for you.
3. Invest, Automate… Freedom!
Ultimately, you want money because you know that money will give you freedom. You want freedom for a variety of reasons but it basically entails you wanting to be yourself, fully. Which is super fucking cool and you deserve to be able to FLEX whoever it is you are to the upteenth degree. But you need time for that, and what money can and will eventually buy you, is time. If that time means more time to work on the things you love to work on, then cool. If it means traveling, then hell yeah. If it means giving back, then you’re a rock star. It doesn’t matter what you use it for, as long as money is working for you, and YOU aren’t working for money.
