My Week(End) Retreat

Last week I had the opportunity to attend the first ever TAP Retreat at the Impact Hub in Downtown Oakland. The TAP Retreat is one of many programs offered to students by CODE2040, a nonprofit accelerator for Black and Latino/a engineers. The TAP Retreat is a 2.5 day Technical Applicant Prep where students build portfolios, personal brands, network, and learn about the tech industry.

The Retreat was awesome:

Brand Awareness and Portfolio Building -Check

Panel Discussions and Workshop Sessions -Check

Career Coaching and Technical Interviews -Check

Catered food from the local eateries -Check

Plenty of Tech Professionals and Entrepreneurs -Check

I got to meet and hear from many professionals volunteering to show their support in workshops and tech panels. The Retreat gave me serious insight about the tech industry and better prepared me for the road ahead. The short time I spent at the Technical Applicant Prep encouraged me to attend the Fellows Program soon.
