Dark mode is, quite literally, a skin you can apply to your entire phone that will turn most app backgrounds from white to black — or at least dark gray. More specifically, dark mode essentially inverts the usual white background and black text to apply a black background and white text in apps and menus throughout your phone.

Reducing eye strain and making screens easier to read, especially at night, are two reasons why dark mode has become so popular, but it’s also been hailed for looking cool.

When dark mode went viral, as soon as Apple implementes the feature on the IOS 13, all Apps started to update their color pallets. Despite a primitive Dark Mode has existed on Twitter since 2016, users recently filed many complaints expressing that their dark theme not really being black but different shades of blue.

I’m surprised that nobody has comment on how cool twitter did their dark theme, as they do not only have the dark theme, which it’s called “Dim” but also have the “Light Out” which kill most f the pixels of the screen to proved even a darker look(and also save you some juice).

Unlike Twitter’s original dark mode, or Dim look, which changes the background and UI to dusky blueish-charcoal tones, Lights Out mode uses true blacks for a much darker aesthetic designed to reduce the power consumption on devices with OLED screens — though anyone can enable it, in all platforms, even regardless of what kind of screen their Android smartphone or tablet has.

This makes it much easier on the eyes, particularly when browsing Twitter in darker environments. Also twitter proves the option called “Use device settings” which allows you to activate it automatically at sunset.
