I really don’t want to pivot discussion to Milo, but regardless of all the horrible stuff he has done, I feel it’s important here to say that on the statutory rape issue he was speaking as someone who had been the victim of it, and not as a perpetrator, potential perpetrator, troll, or disinterested party.

It’s true, however, that he did go outside his own direct experience to say that some other gay teens feel the same way.

Before anyone jumps on me for defending pedophilia, I’m speaking as a still-damaged 25 years later survivor of teen sexual abuse, and I most certainly don’t condone it. I simply see complexity and nuance in the experience of a victim/survivor who says they were not damaged.
