There was a puddle of water on the living room floor. As planned, I called the hospital. We were told to arrive the next morning, as the waters had broken, and our son was on his way to his life outside the womb.

The contractions started to come fairly soon. We were thinking we will meet our son within some hours. It was not to be so.
