Purpose through Words

“Each of us is born with a box of matches inside us but we can’t strike them all by ourselves.” ― Laura Esquivel, Like Water for Chocolate

Who am I?

I go by Monty. I just turned 26 and I’m a little overwhelmed by all the possibilities this life has to offer. I am guilty of taking things for granted and letting the day’s potential slip away.

What do I write about?

I write to reflect on the daily happenings that make an impact on the way I define myself as a person. Writing puts things in perspective like nothing else. I have found that the worst days can be the most rewarding so long as I give them meaning.

Why does it matter?

I have chosen to give myself a reason to write. Through writing these stories and reflections, I aspire to achieve a higher level of self-awareness and live each day with an increasing sense of purpose. By improving the way I experience my life, I hope I will become better able to offer insight to others.

What’s next?

As the opening quote suggests, I’m gonna need a little bit of help to get where I want to go, though much of the work is up to me. In my next post, I will consider some characteristics and activities that could help me transform my currently limiting lifestyle into one that is limitless.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
