Skip the excuses. I know lots of people that can say the same thing without the excuses … and they sound … ambiguous anyway.

Open letter to all my friends and family: Why don’t you call? You always enjoy the conversation when you do. No call is less than an hour and we both can offer interesting topics. I know it’s not just me, because you don’t call any other of the old friends. I call. I used to call more. I always send Christmas cards. I send emails when I think it would be of interest to you. Frankly, I’m lonely as hell and I am pretty sure you are too. Why can’t you call or even send an email… year after year. What’s your freaking problem? Why don’t you simply call?

Lemme tell you something. Those pithy sayings talk about after the years, you are still friends. Yep, but that friendship has died. Things like that that are neglected just do.
