I’m sorry, but I think it is people like you that have ruined philosophy as a useful topic. You write so poetically and with such educated authority, but your version of philosophy is like religion speaking of the magic of God when the common folk never see it, so they reject religion that has forgotten that it is about people and their life, not Gods. Gods need no help, people do. You go on and on about what might be found within a person or in union with the universe, with no mention of the most useful power of philosophy, to discern truth using the tools of culture -language, reason and logic. That is what people need now from philosophy, not metaphysical understandings of the subjectiveness of consciousness and being. They need to read to learn how to use that tool that is their mind as the author explains how their character thinks, recognizes their problem, solves it, realizes their mistake and finds the real solution. Philosophy is to train one how to accurately think in the world we live in.
