This seems a well thought out article, but if I thought it important, I would say to confirm it with DNA. The reason I say this is that while I know little about Native Americans I have an excellent knowledge of Anthropology and it has been known for a long time that hybridization between peoples has always been common. Recently though evidence has been arising that it was actually significantly higher than thought.
