I went to college for a degree is compute science.
Charles Lang

The tech community, namely smaller startups will consider dropping the education piece. As you said it’s really something you learn without college. I ended up going for IST because I figured the programming could be learned on my own but the business and management skills might be more beneficial in the long run. I think that if you do want to go to school for computers an IST degree night be your best bet. Learn the programming by doing it every day. By building your own sites and your own software. College won’t make you a great programmer.

I program daily and I love it. That’s what it is all about. I don’t have a crazy high paying job and it’s certainly not a dream job. It pays the bills and I enjoy doing it.

One more semester at PSU then I am done. I don’t know if it will help me get a better job that pays more money, although I hope it does. If not, at least I still love what I do…and thats all that matters.
