Ultimately, the problem is that by choosing React (and inherently JSX), you’ve unwittingly opted into a confusing nest of build tools, boilerplate, linters, & time-sinks to deal with before you ever get to create anything.

Honestly, I cannot find a difference between these structural time sinks and setting them up with vanilla. All of these generators, compilers, etc eliminate the time spent hacking away at browser compatibility and those dang <script> tags. If anything, the payoff for react’s setup is huge, but I do agree it should be lessened. We should not become children of the config.
