Barefoot

I used to think twice before coming near these stairs. When herxing was at its highest, these steps would seem unreachable. I would sit at the edge, trying to convince myself it was ok to go up and down — only to end up back in bed. I no longer sit there, I am able to stand now. Each day, feeling the hardwood floor underneath my feet, I move towards the world, and tell myself: you can do this.
